Open letter to all major Universities on the propose study for politician with disabilities.
To whom it may concern.
I am writing to you because I am interested in seeking help from any major universities as a way to conduct a study of the political element and struggle of running a city political campaign from a person with disabilities perspective. There is little study about politic and people with disabilities in academia literature that by running for city council will demonstrate this rare opportunity for any major University, to document, study and examine the political difficulties of the political ramification in running for office as a person with disabilities.
I believe that every person should have the right to strive for success, including people with disabilities. I am successful as an advocate because I can relate to the adversity that the constituents are facing. I am very passionate about my work because I am working within the community of which I am a member. I have proved through the work that I have done with consumers that I am a good candidate. I strive to improve the lives of people with and without disabilities. I know that this opportunity is rare and hardly ever has been a study on people with disabilities at large.
Some of the reason that I am offering myself as a political study; I am married, a father and a working member of society. I want to empower other people with disabilities to do the same. A large part of my job is to help people find the tools to help them succeed in their lives. Much of my previous experience is influencing the non-disabled community to educate people in general that people with disabilities can run and win election. I believe in thinking outside of the box. The Influence of the media and the tone of the media is critical to such study.
My experience in working with people with disabilities can shed light on why people with disability very sedomly win election and other don’t. I am well versed in the different components of the law that services the community of people with disabilities.
I would like you to take this opportunity to meet with you in person to discuss the proposed study in greater detail. I will appreciate that you will contact me as soon as possible so that you can have a rare look at the political struggle and historical view of two competing force, the ableism and the people who demand access is a right. I am happy to provide you with any additional information you may need. Thank you so much for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Daniel Garcia
